Description 1

Hedgehog between 12-27 cm long and 250-400 g in weight. Pale, white-yellow face with a long, pointed snout (up to 4.5 cm). Its characteristics include its big, rounded ears that are slightly pointed, flexible and mobile and covered in small white hairs. White chest and legs. Dorsal spikes with a white or yellow point and a darker band following on from that.

Biology 1

A solitary species, with very active nocturnal habits. They feed mainly on insects and can travel up to 9 km when searching for food. Throughout the day they can be found relaxing underneath rocks, bores or heaps of rocks.

Habitat 1

They inhabit the same areas as native hedgehogs, in forest areas where they have been able to be abandoned.
